Students leave for research field trips in South Luangwa National Park in a Land Rover donated by Painted Dog Conservation Inc.

Every Friday during the school year, ZCP wildlife expert, Ashed Makukula, leads young students from the local Student Conservation Clubs into South Luangwa National Park to learn about and perform real science and wildlife monitoring.

Even though South Luangwa National Park lies just a few miles from the villages, many students have never had the opportunity to visit and explore the Park and experience the wildlife.   These trips not only offer students the resources by which to directly experience the rich wildlife of South Luangwa and to become involved in on-the-ground conservation efforts, but also provides training in basic science and field skills and career training for future wildlife biologist from the local villagers.

Help support and sustain Ashed’s education work on behalf of Zambian wildlife, donate online HERE and specify “Generosity in Action’s Fund – Zambian Carnivore – Student Conservation” in the comment box provided.

Conservation Clubs offer young students the opportunity to learn essential skills and prepare for future careers in  wildlife biology and conservation. Ashed Makukula has dedicated over 30 years to wildlife conservation in Zambia and is committed to sharing his knowledge with young students in the Luangwa Valley.

Your donation will help us to:

  • Better prepare local students for employment in wildlife-related fields through hands-on field-research opportunities and computer training.
  • Teach students science through ‘adventure-based learning,’ allowing for hands-on experience in creating and conducting research
  • Contribute to knowledge and conservation of wildlife in the region around villages.
